Jerry Nelson, KC8HUP, is passing along some information about an "Advanced" Skywarn class that was supposed to have been held on March 11, 2007, at the Randolph County Vo-Tech Center. After I received his message, I got a message from Gene Roy, N8ER, telling me about a date change to April 1st. There was an ECOMM Level 1 scheduled for the same time, so they changed the Skywarn Class date. I'm not for sure, but I think the Skywarn class will still start at 1:30 pm. For further information, you can contact either Jerry Nelson, or Jeff Broschart, KC8OBS.

There were 74 check-ins to this week's State Wide DAREN Net. Ray Gorrell, WV8RG, who's been participating in the net since December 25, 1993, has completed 650 check-ins. Bob Tuckerman, W3RUA, who's been participating in the net since December 18, 1993, has completed 600 check-ins. And, John Johnston, KF8OM, who's been participating in the net since December 3, 1994, has completed 550 check-ins. All of these stations will be receiving their certificates. Tom Martin, WW8TM, needs only one more check-in to make 500. Bob Steele, N8HGL, needs only one more check-in to make 450. William Loftis, N8RKU, needs only one more check-in to make 100. And, Larry Dale, KF8NW, needs only one more check-in to make 50. There was one station that checked into the net this week with the callsign of "CALL-15". It looks like that station connected to the Net Control Station by connecting to one NODE and then digipeating through the Wetzel County NODE of WETZWV. If you don't see your callsign on this week's State Wide DAREN Net Announcement, and think it may have been you, let me know so that I can update your participation records. I have the certificates printed for those who have been waiting for them, and the ones for this week. I will be mailing them out before the next State Wide DAREN Net on Saturday.
