SUBJECT: ARE YOU READY FOR SPRING/SUMMER?
Now that spring has sprung, are you ready for the type of
weather that it brings? There are several things that you should
think about when the weather gets warmer and you're able to spend time
outside. You need to look around your home for any problems that
Winter may has caused, like trees that fell onto power lines that hasn't
caused any problems yet. How about trees that are lying on the guy
wires of your tower, or the coax coming from you antenna back to the
radio. Has the wind or ice caused any damage to the antennas
themselves? Is the ground wire still connected and in good shape
going to your radio, the power entrance box, and your telephone system.
How about telephone numbers for agencies that you may need to contact,
are they readily available? If there was a severe storm that was
approaching the area, or already there, would you have the telephone
number of the National Weather Service handy so that you could give them
a call, or would you have to look it up? How about the Power and
Telephone Company numbers are they at hand so they can be reached in
case someone reports a power or telephone line down, or something laying
on them. These are just few things to think about now that you can
spend some time outside and have a little bit of time on your hands.
